Trekking
If the Alte Vie, the Grande Balconata, the Tour of Monte Rosa or the Matterhorn are part of the history of this land, equally beautiful and fascinating are the many paths (all signposted, with degrees of difficulty and travel times) that "open up", as if by magic, from the ski lifts of the Grande Becca area.
With "close encounters" of chamois, ibex, marmots and up there in the blue sky of eagles. The tinkling of bells announces the presence of cows with rhododendrons and edelweiss composing a truly unique puzzle.
Like his mountain: the Matterhorn!

Equitation
New emotions for expert riders and novices: trekking on horseback “…This world would collapse the day it no longer produced a knight…” Michelet's prediction is perhaps a little catastrophic, but, certainly, trekking on horseback is today a very widespread and constantly growing activity, protected, therefore, from… apocalyptic predictions.
Horseback riding is an activity that in past centuries was not so much a hobby as an opportunity for locomotion; most of the time we rode at a gallop and, as western films remind us, the old stagecoaches swept away the sand of the "desert" at full speed. Today, equestrian tourism is also the pleasure of going slowly.
A day of horse riding corresponds, on average, to half an hour, forty minutes by car, and moving slowly allows you to better appreciate the environment and the details: walking on horseback thus becomes one of the best ways to experience nature without disturbing it.
For this activity, numerous specialized riding centers are available in the Aosta Valley.

Golf
The "modern" version of a no longer elite sport was born in Scotland in the 15th century “Golf is a game the object of which is to hit a tiny ball into an even tinier hole, with equipment singularly ill-designed for that purpose” … so commented golfer Sir Winston Churchill.
It is a definition that can, in some way, help us explain, with a hint of humour, what Golf consists of; however, if this discipline were reduced to it, there would be no reason to play it.
In reality, with his ironic definition, the great English statesman meant that Golf is a truly "difficult" game. Perhaps this is why many have taken up the challenge of trying their hand at a new discipline and, given the results (in terms of increased popularity), many have really enjoyed the challenge.
In Valle d'Aosta there are 5 circuits for playing golf and 2 driving ranges for training, which offer the possibility of practicing this sporting discipline in very suggestive environments.
The highest 18-hole course in Italy awaits you. In Breuil-Cervinia you can play on the splendid 18-hole golf course at the foot of the "Nobile Scoglio". The first in Valle d'Aosta and the highest in Italy: don't forget, for your holiday, the "tools of the trade"!

Rafting
Adventures and emotions on the splendid water scenery of the Aosta Valley From April to September, the sparkling Alpine streams become the scene of spectacular sporting activities: canoeing, kayaking, rafting offer water lovers exciting moments, among rapids and natural slides.
The kayak, almost always made of polyethylene, a highly impact-resistant material, is used by sitting in the cockpit and closing the space between the person and the cockpit with a splash guard to prevent water from entering. The river kayak, with a rounded keel, is easy to handle and suitable for quick and precise maneuvers in short spaces.
The Canadian canoe is a solid, stable vessel, suitable for transporting multiple people. The feature that immediately distinguishes it from a kayak is the use of a single blade paddle. This allows for a powerful but asymmetric push, so the Canadian rower is usually pushed by two or more rowers, who must be well-matched.
The Canadian is slower than the kayak, precisely because it is more stable, but offers greater comfort; being generally open, it is less suitable for facing challenging waves and rapids.
The best known is rafting, which consists of descending a river aboard inflatable boats of various sizes. Specialized guides are available to initiate beginners or to accompany enthusiasts with programs of different difficulty and duration; there are also routes specifically designed for kids.
Hydrospeed, a discipline more similar to canyoning, uses a kind of board with which you face, free body, the waters of rivers and streams.

Mountain biking
Since the summer of 2010, Breuil-Cervinia has presented itself with important innovations regarding the world of two wheels: the inauguration of two downhill mountain bike tracks.
The town, which hosted the international downhill mountain bike competition "Maxiavalanche" for 6 consecutive years, decided that it was time to dedicate itself with heart and soul to this sporting discipline which promises great emotions, for young and old.
THE SLOPES.
The longest, which looks like the flagship, will start from 2900 meters of Cime Bianche lakes, to reach, after an endless serpentine, the departure of the cable cars in Breuil-Cervinia. Along the route, which we could define as "freeride", many supports and some aerial walkways in treated wood will be prepared, while the conformation of the route will tend to maintain as much as possible the typical connotations of the terrain crossed, thus allowing bikers to enjoy not only a breathtaking landscape, but also the presence of natural elements and obstacles that distinguish the absolute "high mountain" territory.
The second route, also defined as "freeride", will wriggle on a route known to the great population of Cervinia visitors, such as the downhill slope of the legendary "maxiavalanche" as it will be created using the track of the well-known competition, working the terrain in different points, in order to make the descent on the mountain bike smooth and "sparkling".
Particularly careful attention will be paid to the signage of the tracks, with the creation of specific information sheets at the start of the tracks, which will indicate the fundamental aspects to guarantee users of the routes the highest possible level of safety.

Fishing
Suggestions for sport fishing in mountain lakes and streams From the Dora Baltea, which flows along the central valley, to the clear streams, which flow in the lateral valleys, up to the alpine lakes, the panorama offered to sport fishing enthusiasts is as varied as ever.
The "Regional Consortium for the protection, increase and exercise of fishing" publishes the fishing calendar every year, with all the useful information for fishermen: necessary permits and issuing points, periods and days in which fishing is permitted, list of tourist and winter reserves, permitted tools, techniques and bait.
All the lakes and streams in the regional territory where it is possible to fish and the related fishing regimes are also indicated on a specific map.
In addition to the "free waters", the fishing reserves directly managed by the consortium, the private ones and those managed by the "riverains" are listed.
The “riverain” is a private operator that directly promotes and manages the stream and sport fishing. The fishermen are accompanied to the fishing areas by the riverain who, in collaboration with the tourist operators, also takes care of organizing the reception and entertainment of family members and companions.
These areas are mainly under a no kill regime, with mandatory release of the catch, and precise rules such as: using single barbless hooks (the small protrusion under the tip of the hook), wetting your hands before touching the fish to free it, handling the fish as little as possible.

Air Sports
The atavistic dream of flying at 3500 meters, between Matterhorn, Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc For some years, the "Icarus" who try their hand (with greater success) in "flying" activities have increased dramatically.
Parachuting, an activity that was once the prerogative of the military, is now very widespread. Likewise, perhaps even more significantly, the number of people practicing paragliding has increased. At the basis of this diffusion are the morphology of the Aosta Valley territory and the advent of new technologies which, today, even offer two-seater equipment, as well as the possibility of practicing this sport in a wheelchair.
These activities are accompanied by sailing (glider), motorized flying, hang gliding and spectacular, colorful hot air balloons. Aosta “Corrado Gex” airport, located 2 km from the entrance to the city, is home to the Valle d'Aosta Aero Club. Antey-Saint-André, a municipality on the road to Cervinia, is, however, the logistical headquarters of the main paragliding center in the Aosta Valley, where it is possible to fly all year round, weather permitting.
